How much do I have to pay to use ChartAI?
You can use ChartAI’s basic service completely free. No payment, no credit card required.
Are the paid plans better than the free version?
Yes, they are! Paid plans offer unlimited recordings and enhanced templates, at a minimum.
How much will it cost to use advanced features?
Each subscription tier clearly outlines what’s included and the costs associated with that level of access. Monthly costs range from $79 to $249 per user. See our pricing page for details.
What’s my commitment?
None! We don’t do contracts as we think once you start using ChartAI, you’ll wonder how you ever worked without it.
What if I don’t like ChartAI?
If you don’t like it, simply cancel your subscription. Your subscription won’t renew in the following billing period.
What if I paid for a yearly subscription, can I cancel?
Yes, you can. Your subscription will not renew in the following year. No refunds are available, but you will be entitled to use ChartAI until the last day of your pre-paid subscription.
How do I start using ChartAI? Do I need to download an app?
You can sign up directly at app.chartai.ai and start using the desktop version right away, no download required as long as you have a microphone. If your desktop doesn’t have a mic, you can record conversations using your phone:
- iPhone users: Download our dedicated mobile app from the Apple App Store or access the mobile web app through your device’s browser.
- Android users: Access the mobile web app through your device’s browser.
Once we’ve verified your practice details, you’ll be up and running in no time.
Features and Functionality
How does the app produce chart notes?
We’ve built a sophisticated AI that records patient interactions, filters out ambient noise, transcribes entire conversations, and then distills that into meaningful chart notes providing you with an accurate summary of the patient appointment.
What can the app record?
The app can record anything, but it will only produce chart notes related to dental-specific terminology. This means that while it captures all spoken words, it will only produce content relevant to dental care into chart notes.
Can I use ChartAI offline?
No, you can’t. ChartAI requires internet service to play and record conversations and produce chart notes.
How accurate are the chart notes?
After extensive testing, our accuracy rate exceeds 96.2%. You’re also always in control and can edit or delete anything, anytime!
What happens if there's an error in the chart notes?
You have complete control to edit them as needed in the desktop dashboard. You can also simply swipe left in the mobile app to delete chart record entirely or flag it for editing outside of the app.
Will ChartAI track informed consent for me?
Yes! We even record patient consent for the recording itself!
Can I use ChartAI for perio-probing?
Coming soon! If you’re subscribed to our Ultimate tier, we support perio-probing directly into your existing odontogram.
Can ChartAI recognize dental terminology and jargon?
Yes! That’s what it is built for, after all.
Do I have to set up menus, or templates to use ChartAI?
No, you don’t. Just log in, click “New Chart”, select a template, and you’re done.
User Interaction
How do I get the best results from ChartAI?
Make sure your microphone is placed within eyesight of where you’re speaking. The closer the better. If you’re using a phone, we recommend putting it in your shirt pocket, with the microphone facing Up (the phone will be upside down). Speak clearly. Repeat things that a patient reports to you for absolute clarity – for your patient and the recording!
Is there a tutorial or training provided for new users?
You can book a demo, or review the sample charts and product tour in chartAI itself for a product walk through.
How easy is it to use ChartAI?
Simply enter your patient name, tap “Start Recording Now,” and press “Stop” when you’re done. It’s that easy!
How do I train ChartAI to understand my voice?
You don’t need to! We automatically adjust to your unique voice and any accent you might have.
Do you support languages other than English?
Yes! Chart notes will always be delivered in English, but patient interactions can be recorded in any language. Does best in: Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish. Does well in: Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Hindi, Arabic, Hebrew. All other languages with limited capability. The app will automatically translate any foreign language conversation to English and produce chart notes in English.
Can I edit the chart notes in the mobile app?
You can edit notes if you’re using the app through your mobile device browser. Simply open app.chartai.ai with your phone browser (like Chrome or Safari) and you can easily edit and save the chart.
Can I delete things I don’t like from my chart notes in the mobile app?
You can’t delete sections from the chart by editing it, or you can completely delete the whole chart. Simply open app.chartai.ai with your phone browser (like Chrome or Safari), navigate to chart notes you want to delete and click “Delete” at the very bottom of the chart.
What if I don’t like something that was said, can I delete it?
You cannot edit the transcript or the audio recording, however, in Pro and Ultimate plans you can record more than 1 audio per chart. You can also edit or delete anything in the chart note and, of course, delete the entire chart record.
Desktop vs Mobile
What can the desktop dashboard do that the mobile app can't?
You can edit your chart notes directly in the desktop dashboard or using mobile browser. You can also process the chart notes again using a different template if you like. You have complete control and can export to your PMS with one click to copy the chart note.
Can I use the desktop dashboard only?
Yes, provided your desktop has a suitable microphone, you can begin and end a patient recording directly from the desktop dashboard. If you don’t have a microphone, we can recommend some based on your usage needs.
It sounds like the desktop app is easier. Why would I choose the mobile version?
If you work all day in a single office, the desktop version may be your best choice. If you move from office to office, or from operatory to operatory, it’s often easier to start and record the appointment from your mobile device, and then review/edit on your desktop.
Device Compatibility
Which devices are compatible with ChartAI?
Our app is accessible through a web version so any device with Internet access and a browser is compatible. We recommend using Chrome. Here’s a link to our web app.
I have a very noisy office. Will ChartAI work?
Yes, it will. In most cases, your phone microphone and its noise-cancelling technology will suffice. If your office is open plan with another patient in close proximity, we recommend an external microphone you can wear. We have tested numerous microphones and are happy to make recommendations.
Security and Data
Is patient data secure with ChartAI?
Yes, we use advanced cryptography to encrypt all patient data, ensuring it remains secure during storage and transmission. Records are never identifiable by anyone but you and those on your staff with access.
Is ChartAI PIPEDA compliant?
Yes! We are fully compliant with Canadian Privacy laws.

Integration
Can I integrate ChartAI with my existing dental software?
Absolutely! If you’re subscribed to our Ultimate plan, we integrate with most Dental PMS. In other packages, you’ll need to export the data with one-click from the desktop dashboard, or a simple cut and paste directly from your smartphone.
Does ChartAI support multiple users in my practice?
At this moment, you can create separate accounts for each dental practitioner. You can also share one account with all your team members.

We are constantly improving ChartAI and adding new features. The desktop dashboard is updated automatically any time you refresh your screen.

Equipment and Setup
Do I need to buy any special equipment?
No, you don’t. Just use the phone you already have—or your desktop if it has a mic—to record your chart notes, then export them straight into your PMS.
What type of external microphones work best with ChartAI?
We have tested numerous microphones and are happy to make recommendations. Contact us for details.
Does ChartAI work with dental hardware, like intraoral cameras?
Not yet. We’re exploring options to integrate with existing dental hardware in future updates.
